Can you buy back time?
Many people say you can't buy back time... What do you think? Is it possible or not?
Well it really depends on why do you want to buy back time, really... Many people want to buy back time because they probably have lost or left something behind time. Something which they should have done but did not manage to do perhaps…
Others may be good memories which they want to rekindle…example their time with their kids while they were young and now that they are teenager, their kids might be doing less things with them and has outgrown them to have their own little circle of friends and acquaintance to hang out.
But look at the other side, memories are memories and it was good that you had the opportunity to spend time with them when they were growing... now that they have a new chapter of their lives, the time you now spend with them is a different level of time which may be to engage with them on different stuff like sharing teenage experience, helping them understand economics, preparing them for the working world and when they have their own family, helping them on learning parenthood. So there is no real reason why you need to buy back time because each timespace will be specially different and new timespaces will evolve. As long as you do the things you need to during each timespace, then there are no regrets that you want to buy back back time.
This is just one example, it can be related to anything, time during your college, during your career or even a shorter time during a project you undertaken. Time passes and you take opportunity to use your time to the best because once it is gone, it is difficult to buy back. If you have done what you should during the time you had, then there are no regrets but just good memories which you take along with you in your life timeline.
SPX (4105)
We had a pullback this week and we ended almost where we were last week.
The higher non-farm unemployment change and lower unemployment rate may not to too positive to help the Fed justify that they can stop the rate hikes as the economy is not showing it is in pain…
CPI is coming on 12 April, so we should see a much bigger pullback and sideway movement due to the uncertainties ahead.
The trading range for the week is between 4050 and 4150.
NDX (13062)
Although NDX retraced for the week, it seems that there is good support at 12,900 level.
As Friday was a market holiday when non-farm employment change and unemployment claims came out, Monday the market may digest the information and do some further pullback. Let’s see if the support holds again.
CPI will be another factor which will give a bit of volatility to the market this week.
The trading range for the week is between 12850 and 13350.
HANG SENG INDEX (20400)
HSI had a pullback this week, forming support at 20100.
CPI and PPI is expected on Tuesday, 11 April.
OIL PLAY STILL A GOOD BET…
We continue in April our oil play despite oil gapping up due to the OPEC production cuts announced last week. Most oil companies and ETF also gapped up but subsequent retraced. There is still some downside pulling down oil mainly due to the softer economies expected going forward. So neutral play would still be a good strategy for now as oil may bounce around within a high and low band.
VIX SPIKING…
We posted this on 31 March and there were many entry opportunity since. We are looking for VIX to spike further before CPI on 12 April.
GLD IV RANK UP
Today we see IV Rank going back up from 47/48+ last week to 62 today. Once it hits 70 or close to that, would be a good entry level before CPI. GLD price has retraced lately. Remember a higher IV would mean a bigger expected move or bigger 1 Standard Deviation, more premium lower price movement risk.
This week will be a good time to catch a threesome play above.
