REFLECTION...
Happy New Year to all! May 2022 brings us all forward in all facets of our lives.
Before we start off the new year, it is good if we reflect what have we achieved and accomplished over the past year with regards to the 3 pillars of our life which is:-
#1 Health
# 2 Relationship
# 3 Financial
How well have you done for the most important pillar which is Health?
Have you achieved a good milestone with regards to keeping fit and exercising regularly? Personally for me, I think this is one area which need a lot of improvement as I started the year with much excitement and determination to keep this as a priority. But as the year passed and crossed towards the second half with more activities coming through and as we get busier, this area has started to be neglected. How many of you face the same situation? I guess most would be guilty of this as this is the least enjoyed area for me as it is taken as a task and not an activity where you make it enjoyable. Especially if you are doing it alone, it makes it more difficult.
One way to change this is of course to get a partner to work on this area together with you. It can be your friend, your spouse or even your children. Make this a fun daily or weekly event where we do it together and have fun and spend time after your busy schedule at work. It can be as simple as a Sunday walk at the park or your neighborhood. When you make it an event, then it becomes a norm and you will not even feel it as a torture to get up from your but to do the "task".
The other part is of course on your diet. Have you taken care of what intakes you consume and what you should take less? This is always the evil area for all as nice food is just too pitiful not to be enjoyed. They make it so convenient for you to get a bite on the way back home after a long day of work. I am referring to the McDonalds Drive Throughs which is always jam packed. You can imagine how many unhealthy people are there around and no wonder McDonalds have reached an all time high of $268 gaining 25% over the year. Well got to work harder to keep our food intake in check for the coming year.
Verdict for 2021 Health - Need lots of Improvement.
Relationship would have fared better for all I presume? With the pandemic still around most of time throughout the year, I presume we all went out of the home less for both work/school and leisure and spent most of time together with your family. I would take it more positively that if you spend more time together then it would lead to better relationship. Although on the other extreme some people would feel trapped at home and can't wait to get out of the house.
For singles, it may be a lot of social me time online rather than face to face gatherings. Opportunities to meet face to face when lockdowns are uplifted is always an exciting event and things that we lookout for. In a way, the friendship bond can be even stronger as we cherish more the time spent together in person.
One greater achievement this year for me is to generate a great relationship with the people which have common desires as me in terms of making an impact in people's live. I have made a great number of friends in our coaching community of mentors in various fields trying to impart their knowledge to people who want to learn and make a difference in their lives. Of course not forgetting you guys whom have taken the leap of faith to believe in me and have benefit from of my trainings and contents. 😉
Hopefully we all can do better in this area and come back to norm and cultivate a stronger relationship together with all.
Verdict for 2021 Relationship - New Breakthroughs
Financials... One of the great pillars to all...as I believe everyone needs to be good in the financial area to support a better health and greater relationship.
This year can be a challenging year for many as the pandemic has affected many people's livelihood. Some people lost their job, had a pay cut or business being affected. On the other hand, some people can have the total opposite effect, got a promotion, a raise or have their business double. It really depends which side of the supply chain channel they come from as business like online business had thrived while physical retail or travel business may not have done so well due to the pandemic.
But really if you had been affected, the question is always what have you done to prevent such incidences affecting your livelihood. My answer to this is always on setting a side of your time and money to generate supplemental income, income that you do not immediately need. The earlier you do this the better it becomes as you can build a ton of wealth if you do it correctly.
Even in a year where the pandemic continued, the market S&P 500 had risen 28% and if you had not invested even in the general market, you would have lost out. It is not a question if it is the right time to invest anymore, it is a question of whether you are in or take the risk of not being in the market. If you lost your job or business affected, your financials will be affected. If you had invested/traded the markets, you would have made some insurance policies in advance in time of need. Yes, I call it "insurance" because you set it up before you need it and you can't just buy it when you need it because you will not afford it at that critical time or it will not give you any immediate benefit.
So for those who have started this Financial journey, kudos to you. For those who have yet to do it, work on it even if you start something small it is okay as long as you have started it, eventually you will get the hang of it and find that it does not take a lot of effort and time to work this area out.
Let's make 2022 another great year to improve our Financials and work towards our financial success.
Verdict for 2021 Financials - It's Not A Race... Keep it Going!
